Hey there readers, it's been a long time since my last post, and of course, i have some (lots) more music to share with you!

The Lateness Of The Hour - Alex Clare

Another English, dubstep heavy album, Alex Clare has some things to show you.
At first it sounds messy, so many beats and sounds, i wasn't convinced with this guy. But i've checked out some of his stuff on YouTube, and man, his voice is powerful! His music oozes passion, not sure what it's about half the time, but it's good, check it out.

Stand Out Tracks: Sanctuary, I Won't Let You Down, Love You.

Second up!

Ghosts Of The Past - Eskimo Joe

Eskimo Joe! Australian music at it's absolute finest!
Ghosts Of The Past is the bands fifth (5th) studio album, and they do not disappoint.
Filled with a lovely mix of electric guitar, tight drums and melodic piano (other instruments feature as well of course),  this album wakes you up and gets you ready for the day.

Stand Out Tracks: Words Of Avoidance, Itch, Ghost Of The Past.

Bear with me, I have a fair few albums to get through! Next is:

Plus - Ed Sheeran

This young English Jack Johnson is gathering lots of attention at the moment. His debut album 'Plus' was recently released and Sheeran is likely to gain lots more popularity from it. Why not give this young red-head a go and grab some of his music.

Stand Out Tracks: The A Team, Small Bump.

Hear Ye, more New Music!

Alrighty peeps!
albums comin' at ya!

SBTRKT - SBTRKT

So SBTRKT, or Aaron Jerome to his family and friends, has brought us another post-dubstep album to look out for in 2011.
I haven't listened to this album all the way through yet, but I have listened to some tracks.
Firstly, Aaron, being British makes me wonder what the hell is going on in the British music scene this year and last, as both him, Jamie Woon and the famous James Blake have all released a post-dubstep-ish album all this year. Some tracks that I have listened to from this guy aren't immediate favourites but i'm sure like most things, his music will grow on me.
Stand Outs: Hold On.
- thanks to wonderful girlfriend for recommending this one! cheers babe!

On another, relaxed and bluesy note, we have our last album for now.
now this album wasn't released recently but i'm reviewing it anways.

Hope - Foy Vance

So, Foy Vance is amazing. That is all.
Blues. Piano + Guitar. Sweet, Sweet Vocals. Stories of a Man. Even a sax in there somewhere. Amazing.
I give it..... alot/10
Stand Outs: Doesn't Take A Whole Day, Indiscrimate Act of Kindness, and the rest of the damn album. Get on it!

As you were.....

Hear Ye, new gear!

So my lovely (yet limited) blog readers, i thought i would jump on here to let you know of some fantastical events that have recently taken a-place!

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=262785800402431
I will playing along side the one and only, amazing Ben White, with the equally amazing Stefan Redpath destroying our souls with THEIR constistanly incredible music prowess!
So get along!

Ok...now to some more amazing stories.
Last week, Myself and fore mentioned Ben, took a trop into St Kilda to take some musical gear off of their hands.
Little to our knowledge, these amazing people were giving us equipment that add up to a value of....wait for it...$8,000.
Yep.
Included in this was, (im guessing) a 10-15 year old, Pearl Masters MCX acoustic drum kit, along with 3 Zildjan K cymbals (ride, hats and crash) and hard road cases. all this valued at around about $5,000
here some pictures....

NOW, with this amazing gift, we were also given a Roland TD-12 V Drums machine brain, valued around - $3,000
with this machine Ben and I hope to merge it, together with the electronic kick pedal and snare drum, with the cymbals from an acoustic kit.
We are hoping to create something with this kind of feel:

Hear Ye! Brand New Music

Hey there readers, as my first blog, I'd like to direct your attentions to some new albums I recently aquired which are both AMAZING!
The first is that of Jamie Woon, his debut album is called Mirrorwriting

Jamie Woon - Mirrorwriting

This album combines what is now being classed as 'Post Dubstep' beats and sounds with 'RnB, Soul' vocals. Jamie has done a fantastic job with this album of 13 tracks, most of which will captivate your emotions for a good 4mins (average) each.
It is an amazing first album for Jamie, and I can't wait to hear with what else this talented British singer can come up with in the future.

Stand Out Tracks: Night Air, Lady Luck, Shoulda and Spirits.

And secondly we have Fink's latest realese, Perfect Darkness.

Fink - Perect Darkness

This album took me by suprise as I had not heard any previous work from 'Fink' but I can now say after listening to this album hours on end during work days, that i am thoroughly impressed.
Fink's smooth vocals have a calming sensation that lets you drift off to sleep no matter where you are. Normally I avoid listenting to such artists while at work, but there's somthing different about Fink.
His mix of slow pulsing drums beats aid the vocals in a way that keeps me, a drummer, very interested.
But this is not why I tend to come back to this album day after day. Fink's guitaring is amazing.
It's just crazy good, and I love hearing it over and over and over again.

Stand Out Tracks: Perfect Darkness, Honesty, Wheels, Save it for Somebody Else and Foot in the Door.

If you get a chance to listen to either of these guys, grab their albums and enjoy!
Till next time!
